Books in the Woods at Ashridge

Children’s stories and nature based play for 0-5s and their grown ups in the stunning Ashridge Estate. Join us with your picnic rugs to listen to a wonderful story read by one of our parent volunteers, followed by some activities and free play in the woods. Suitable for parents and their little ones under 5 years of age.

On the day practicalities

  • Come dressed for the outdoors!
  • Bring a picnic blanket.
  • You’re welcome to bring your own refreshment, when possible we will provide a hot drink and a snack.
  • Feel free to arrive a few minutes early to get yourselves settled. The story will begin at 10.30.
  • Please remember you are responsible for your child(ren) at all times.

Tickets become available at 10:30am on a Saturday for the following Friday session.

Additional information

Park at the monument car park and walk to the left around the meadow (toilets and cafe will be on your right). Along the path you will see us on the left set up under the trees!

The toilets are a little way from our site so make use of them before the session if you need to!
