Sunday 11 June

Faiths for Climate Justice - Interfaith Picnic for the Climate

As part of the Great Big Green Week, on 11 June, Faith for the Climate and the UK Brahma Kumaris will be hosting a family-friendly Interfaith picnic. The event will be held in the church and grounds at St John’s, Waterloo, SE1 8TY.

We’ll start the day with a truly multi-faith time of reflection, to be held in St John’s Church at 11am.  It’ll be led by leaders from five different faiths (Anglican, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and the Brahma Kumaris) and will incorporate traditional music. The theme will relate to the various faith perspectives on the environment.

Bring and share lunch

After the service there will be a bring-and-share lunch – there are also many and diverse food outlets nearby, for those who don’t have the chance to bring anything.

Eco-festival

During/after lunch, an Eco-Festival will take place in the gardens of the church.  They’ll include:

  • A special area of fun children’s activities focused on environmental values – including face painting, drawing and painting, games.
  • There will also be on-stage performances, including songs, music, poetry, storytelling and dance.

This event has been co-organised by Faith for the Climate and the UK Brahma Kumaris.
