Event Details

Our garden is based on Permaculture principles of sustainability, carbon sequestration and food production. It is 30ft wide and 90ft long.   Features include rainwater collection and a soak-away, a hot composting bin, wormery and an area for growing vegetables. There are native wild flowers, beneficial plants for bees and butterflies, a small pond, soft fruit bushes and a variety of herbs and fruit trees.   Each year the garden produces several pounds of raspberries, gooseberries, strawberries, black and red currants, grapes, pears, plums, apples, rhubarb and hazelnuts much of which is turned into jams and preserves.

Fresh vegetables such as salads, tomatoes, beans, onions, potatoes, courgettes, beetroot and sweet-corn are grown. There is a wood store with a sedum roof and the house has solar panels, which power our car.

Space is limited so please email Gay Veal in advance to book a place.
