Friday 16 June
Join Havant Borough Tree Wardens for a walk in Johnston’s Coppice, a Hampshire County Council nature reserve, as part of Havant Borough Big Green Week organised by Havant Friends of the Earth and Havant Climate alliance.
The wood covers 20 acres and is designated as a SINC (Site of Importance for Nature Conservation). The wood is home to dormice and a variety of birds, including goldcrests.
Duration: 1½ – 2 hours.
Havant Borough Tree Wardens are a local group of volunteers that forms part of The Tree Council’s national Tree Warden Scheme. We plant and maintain trees and hedges and regularly lead walks to pass our knowledge and enthusiasm to other people and encourage them to take an interest in trees.
We recently planted over 200 trees on the edge of Johnston’s Coppice to replace ash trees that were removed due to disease.
