Sunday 18 June

Wilder Wigginton - How we made a wildflower meadow!

Join us at 3pm at the village hall for tea & cake and short talks by Lea Ellis, Wilder Communities officer for the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust and David Wilde, leader of the Rec Wilding Team.

Learn how Wigginton rewilded part of its recreation ground, with help from pre-school and school children and a team of Wigginton village residents, and with support from the Parish Council and the Wigginton Gardeners. Now three years into the project, discover how the village has increased biodiversity in the recreation ground and created a beautiful space for the community.

After the introductory talks, join us on a nature walk around the recreation ground (a 5 minute walk away) to enjoy the rewilding project for yourself and get involved in wild flower and insect identification to help us count the species.

(Option to meet us at the recreation ground at 3.45pm if you can’t make the talk).
