Help us to build the Mossy Carpet.
Our Friends at Art and Energy have given us a section of carpet to complete. All week, visitors will be invited to pop into the Activity Hut to continue adding to our Mossy Carpet section. You can make pompoms, or embroider a section to help us fill the carpet. To find out more about the The Mossy Carpet — The Art and Energy Collective
Have a day out at Castle Drogo without your car.
As part of Great Big Green Week (8 -16 June), we are excited to announce that we are offering a free Castle Drogo Shuttle Bus service on selected dates, between Okehampton and the Castle.
The shuttle service will connect the town of Okehampton with Castle Drogo. Busses will run on: Saturday 8, Monday 10, Wednesday 12, Friday 14 and Saturday 15 of June 2024.
On Saturdays starting from Okehampton train station, outbound busses run at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 which are coordinated to meet the arrival of the train from Exeter. On Weekdays, there will only be two outbound services running at 9:30 and 11:30.
The return bus from Castle Drogo runs at 2:35 and 4:35.
The bus will leave Okehampton train station with one pick up in the town on Fore Street (McColls) before continuing to Castle Drogo. The bus will drop passengers just outside the Visitor Centre entrance to the property where you’ll also find the café, shop and toilets.
Full bus times can be found here: Sustainable travel Dartmoor National Trust | National Trust
