If you’re under the age of 18

If you are under 18 and would like to get involved with The Climate Coalition’s work or campaigns, please ensure you have the consent from a parent or guardian before giving us your personal information.

We will only ever collect or process any personal information for a child under 18 with explicit parental consent. When we collect information about a child or young person aged under 18 we will make clear the reasons for collecting this information, as well as how the information will be used.

Who do we share your personal data with?

The Climate Coalition does not share your data with any other charity, public body, or commercial organisation, unless we have to do so either for legal or compliance reasons, where you have given permission for us to do so, or where it is more cost effective and efficient for us to use a third party to deliver a product or service on our behalf.

With permission: If you ask for your details to be shared with a member organisation – such as for assistance or advice on your Great Big Green Week activity – it will be sent and held securely by both parties.

When you send a message to your MP via Loudspeek, the online tool we use to help constituents send a pre-written email direct to their MPs, your name, email and address will be shared with your MP. This is so they know that you are resident in their constituency and so they can respond to your email.

Legal duty: We may need to pass on personal information if required by law or by a regulatory body. For example, if requested as part of an audit or by a law enforcement agency.

Other service providers or third parties: We sometimes employ third party service providers to carry out tasks on our behalf. This can be because it is clearly more efficient for them to carry out certain tasks  or when we do not have the capacity to do a specific task ourselves.

Here’s the policy we apply to those organisations to keep your data safe and protect your privacy:

We provide only the information they need to perform their specific services.

They may only use your data for the exact purposes we specify in our contract with them.

We work closely with them to ensure that your privacy is respected and protected at all times.

If we stop using their services, any of your data held by them will either be deleted or rendered anonymous.

How long will we keep your personal data?

Whenever we collect or process your personal data, we’ll only keep it for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. At the end of that retention period, your data will either be deleted completely or anonymised.

What are your rights over personal data?

The Climate Coalition actively supports the principle of “fair and transparent” processing of your personal information. We support your rights in relation to your personal information under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the:
