Sunday 9 June

BIG Community Litter Pick

Runnymede Borough Council is joining forces with local communities to celebrate the Great Big Green Week.

The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. Local groups across the UK will be organising events around the themes of climate change action, sustainability, and nature preservation.

We have chosen to organise a BIG community litter pick on Sunday 9th June. As usual there will be two time slots 10am and 2.30pm, exact areas to be confirmed nearer the time.

Our last BIG pick was attended by 106 fantastic volunteers and we really made a difference that day, can we make this one even bigger!

Join our WhatsApp and Facebook groups for up to date information of how to get involved – all the links can be found at linktree https://linktree.ee/newhawlitterpickers

As always we provide litter pickers, bags with hoops, hi-viz vests, gloves and even some snacks and drinks that have been kindly donated by The Co-op on The Broadway

More about Runnymede Great Big Green Week

Runnymede Borough Council is joining forces with its local communities to celebrate Great Big Green Week in 2024. The Council’s objective is to expand the reach of events through engaging collaboratively with a wider number of local groups, seeking to organise an exciting and varied programme of activities.

So far, we are planning to re-run our Environment and Sustainability Photography Competition, Litter Picks, Nature Walks, Library Talks and many more initiatives supported by local schools, faith groups, community organisations, and individuals. If you would like to run an event in Runnymede, please email us as we would love to hear about your event and how the Council can support you.

Kindly note that Runnymede Borough Council accepts no liability associated with events not directly organised by the Council.
