Can monastic life at Easby Abbey teach us anything about sustainability?

Many people have stressed the need to re-assess the way we live in order to create a sustainable way of living on Earth. Join us on this volunteer-led tour, where we will be explaining how the monks went about things and how they saw things- which might give food for thought about how we live today.

Additional information

Access: Parts of the site are uneven and can become muddy. There are steps and stairs within the ruins.

Parking: The car park is signposted and is off the B6271. The abbey is next to the car park. Please consider donating £1 or £2 to St Agatha’s Church.

Facilities: Nearby Richmond Castle has a shop and toilets – It is around a 1.5 mile walk from Easby. Richmond town has public toilets and a range of places to eat and drink.

Tours: Volunteer-led tours are available on various days throughout the summer season. Please check back for details.

Dogs: Dogs on leads are welcome.

Richmondshire Climate Action Partnership is coordinating a week of environmental activities in Richmondshire including a Repair Cafe, an environmental Fair at The Station, Richmond and book talks by environmental authors in partnership with Richmond Walking and Book Festival.
