Clothes Swap

Refresh your wardrobe while helping the planet and bring your clothes to swap them for something new for you. A Clothes Swap is an opportunity to circulate clothes with other members of the community and reduce the 350,000 tonnes of used but still wearable clothing that goes to landfill in the UK every year.

DROP 11:00-12:00 Please bring no more than 10 items of clothing*, freshly cleaned, and ready to go on the racks. We accept all shapes and sizes, including children’s clothing. For every item you drop, you can swap for another, i.e. if you drop 5 items of clothing, you can swap it for 5 items of clothing.

SWAP 13:00-15:00 Browse the rails of dropped clothing and exchange for new preloved items. You can only swap if you have dropped items during the drop period. *No faulty clothing, underwear or swimwear.

More about South West Herts Great Big Green Week

The 2024 South West Herts Great Big Green Week (GBGW) will take place this year between the 8 to the 16 June – with the Watford Green Market takeover taking place on the 9 June.

Through the GBGW we are encouraging groups, individuals, businesses and schools to organise events across Three Rivers and Watford as part of this national week celebrating community action.

The GBGW campaign aims to draw attention to climate change and destruction of the natural world, while also making a connection with these issues and actions locally in Watford and Three Rivers.

Through the week we want to promote as many local groups and activities as possible to get as many people involved in green actions as possible – the aim is to ensure there is something for everyone – and through doing so grow and strengthen the “greenness” of our area.
