Transition Town Wellington’s Community Gardening Sessions – Saturday 24th September 10am Location; Fox’s Field
TTW looks after a number of council owned public green spaces in Wellington, planting food baring trees, bushes and plants for the community, as well as improving the sites for wildlife and creating wildflower meadows. To find out more visit ttw.org.uk.
Everyone is welcome to the sessions, no need to book and no prior experience needed, all ages are welcome, but please can children under 18 be accompanied by an adult. Tools will be provided. Generally speaking, it’s always useful to wear gardening gloves and suitable shoes- wellies or walking boots are great, as these sessions are held in fields with uneven ground.
The main task will be moving a large pile of compost and laying it as a mulch on top of cardboard! Sounds boring but it’s really fun and so worthwhile to do it as a team- plus we are preparing a 450sqm herb area in a new forest garden! So get stuck in, and bring a wheelbarrow if you have one!
For more information email email@example.com.
