Invite your MP to your Green Week event

Are you hosting (or attending) an event or local Green Week in your community this June? Make sure to invite your MP!

You can invite your MP to attend the event, come along to meet members of your community, or even be a part of the event itself.

Great Big Green Week will unleash a wave of support for action to protect the planet, and we want to show our politicians how communities are taking action to tackle climate change and protect green spaces. Inviting your MP to your event is a great opportunity to tell your MP about what is happening locally, and why you care about action on climate and nature.

Use our customisable template to invite your MP to Great Big Green Week today!

STEP ONE: EMAIL YOUR MP

It is more important than ever to create a voice for change that cannot be ignored. Use our customisable template to send an email to your MP to invite them to take part in the Great Big Green Week.

Simply type in your postcode, add in details of your event and how your MP can get involved, and then it will be sent straight to your MP’s inbox.

STEP TWO: CONNECT WITH YOUR COMMUNITY

Use our Facebook group to find others in your constituency to see if anyone is hosting an event in your area, and whether they have contacted your MP.

STEP THREE: FOLLOW UP

Once you’ve emailed your MP, you should receive an automatic reply confirming that it has been received and a time frame for when they will reply (usually 1-2 weeks, but it can be longer).

If your MP doesn’t get back to you within the time frame, it’s always worth a follow-up email or phone call. Sometimes emails get lost in inboxes, or their offices are dealing with a lot of enquiries.

You can find your MP’s contact details by putting in your postcode here
